The Novotel Dona Sylvia was the perfect venue for the Goa wedding of Dhriti and Sharan. We had shot a few portraits for Dhriti in 2011 and she came back after all these years to get her wedding covered.

The beauty of an outdoor wedding is that you can harness natural light, especially the early morning light. We hardly felt the need for strobes through out the two days. Indian weddings are always colorful and when traditional colors fill up the breathtaking landscape of Goa it’s magical.

In line with our style of storytelling we shot this wedding with wide, documentary kind of shots and creative portraits. Dhriti and Sharan obliged us with everything we asked them for during their couple shoot at the beach. Luckily the sunset was breathtaking and the clouds added much needed drama. We used some strobe light to illuminate the couple while keeping the drama of the sunset intact.

Incidentally this was just the second Goa wedding for us and we are looking forward for many more as there is nothing like putting your feet up with a few beers at a shack, post a hectic day of shooting in the humid weather.
