Harini and Teja
A Covid Season, Dallas WeddingThe Covid season Wedding of Harini and Teja. An unusual year calls for departure from the usual, even in Indian weddings. Indian weddings, whether in India or in any other part of the world, is not used to intimate and small scale. It’s lavish, it’s ornate, it boasts a huge guest list. But Covid had other ideas in 2020.
So Harini called us a couple of months before the wedding. Her sister is a friend of Amrutha and Nikhil. We had shot their wedding in 2018, partly in Ongole, Andhra and partly in Austin, Texas. The ball was rolling but the guest list was pretty short. It would be a wedding with full safety measures and masks would become part of the costume.
That said, one can’t take the spirit, fun, great food and chaos out of Indian weddings. We took our usual approach of documentary style with a good mix of portraits for this wedding. We even shot some pictures with a film camera, Mamiya C33 with a roll of Kodak Portra 160. Thus we shot the fifth Covid season wedding of 2020.
The kit used for this wedding was the beautiful and versatile Leica Q, the stunning Hasselblad X1D II and a Fuji GFX 50R. The trusted Profoto B10s provided the lighting when required.
